This super cluster which extends from Northamptonshire into Oxfordshire and beyond – is a £6bn powerhouse of automotive, motorsport and advanced manufacturing companies.
Northamptonshire and the wider South East Midlands is a world leader in advanced manufacturing, with particular specialisms in high-performance technology and motorsport engineering.
Northamptonshire itself is home to over 1,500 high performance technology companies, with a combined turnover of more than £2bn per year.
Silverstone is home to 80 high technology and advanced manufacturing companies, testing facilities for materials and vehicles and the iconic F1 Circuit.
Delivering a positive impact on climate change
The county also plays host to pioneering companies in the low carbon sector, spanning renewable energy and sustainable construction such as www.infinis.co.uk, one of the few companies in the UK already delivering a positive impact on climate change through the capture of greenhouse gas and using it to generate low carbon electricity.
Meanwhile, local sub-sectors such as waste management are also expanding.
